greetings from a sick forest

The sculpture consists of a spruce trunk from a forest my grandparents were taking care of, in South Bohemia, gnawed by the bark beetle, a layer of cracked blue mud and a structure made of ceramics and silicone. The piece also refers to the interplay of human intentions and neglect in landscape and the absurd situations that arise.

Presented in the collectively curated exhibition Zeug & Cajk that addressed the echoes of surrealist thinking in the practices of the five young artists withmixed czech and german biografies. Together with Janna Jirková, Jan Dominik Kudla, Jan Rybníček and Nicholas Prokop, at Kunstarkaden München in April 2024.
